This page explains how Nail Clarity produces, reviews and publishes its content. Nail fungus is a subject where bad information has real costs — someone delays seeing a doctor while an infection spreads, or spends months on a product with no realistic chance of working — so our method belongs in the open where you can judge it.

Our Editorial Mission

Nail Clarity publishes educational content on toenail and fingernail fungus, treatment options, home remedies and nail health for adults. Our goal is to be genuinely useful and medically responsible — not to alarm, oversell or oversimplify.

Sources We Use

We prioritise the following source types:

  • National health bodies: CDC, NIH
  • Specialist organisations: American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA)
  • Established clinical sources: Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic
  • Peer-reviewed research in recognised medical journals
  • Clinical practice guidelines from recognised professional bodies

We do not use affiliate product pages, marketing materials or unverified anecdotal sources as evidence for health claims.

What We Do Not Claim

We do not publish content that:

  • Claims a product, remedy or programme will cure nail fungus overnight or guarantee results
  • Promises a specific timeline for clearing an infection or growing out a healthy nail
  • Advises readers to avoid seeing a doctor for a spreading or complicated infection
  • Uses the phrases “doctor-approved” (without a real doctor), or “guaranteed results”
  • Presents testimonials as medical evidence
  • Attributes medical review to individuals who have not actually reviewed the content

Authorship and Review

Content is written and edited by the Nail Clarity Editorial Team. We are editors; none of us practises medicine, dermatology or podiatry. What we do is read the guidance documents and the studies behind them, then set out what they say with the uncertainty left in.

We do not use the label “medically reviewed” unless a qualified medical professional has actually reviewed the content. We do not fabricate reviewers or credentials.

Where content has been reviewed or fact-checked by a named individual, this is disclosed on the article page.

Affiliate Content and Editorial Independence

Some articles include affiliate links, to Amazon or to ClickBank. When they do, this is clearly disclosed at the top or bottom of the article and on our Affiliate Disclosure page.

Our topic list comes from reader questions and from the gaps we find when we go looking for an answer ourselves; it is not assembled from affiliate programme catalogues. A product we can earn from faces the same questions as one we cannot: what the evidence actually shows, what it costs, and who should leave it alone.

We do not publish content designed primarily to sell a product. Articles with affiliate recommendations include honest context, limitations and medical caveats.

Corrections Policy

If we identify an error — factual, safety-related or otherwise — we correct it promptly. Significant corrections are noted on the relevant article. If you believe something we have published is inaccurate, please contact us and we will investigate.

Content Currency

Medical guidance evolves. We aim to review and update articles when relevant evidence changes. Articles include a publication date, and significant updates are noted in the article. However, we cannot guarantee that every article reflects the most current guidance at any given time. Always check with a healthcare professional for up-to-date personal guidance.

How We Review Products

Nail Clarity is an independent site run by a small editorial team, not by clinicians. Our product reviews are based on the vendor’s official pages, pricing, refund and privacy policies, on medical and government sources, and, where a publisher has provided it to us as an affiliate, on the product itself (for example, we read the member copy of the Overcoming Onychomycosis program). We have not followed any program or hands-on tested the products we write about, and each review says what it is based on. If a vendor or product owner offers us access, we will test it and update the page to say which parts we tested. Method last updated: 20 October 2026.
